WHO WE ARE

ABOUT OUR FOUNDER

CEO, Tameka Shipman has been in childcare for over 20 years. She has an educational journey that included Southeastern Community College, Wake Technical Community College, and Liberty University. She also has a Braid license and an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education – with a graduation recently, Tameka is still active. Additionally, she has a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education in Interdisciplinary Studies.

Mrs. Shipman learned to do hair at the age of 13 and at the age of 15 she took her hair skill to the community, which started with friends and family. This was an early sign that there was a clear love and passion for community, and the rest was history.

OUR OBJECTIVES

To be a positive influence in the lives of the youth and leave a lasting impression on families. The necessary resources and involvement is to be made available to assist the youth in reaching their goals. H.A.I.R believes that relationships are powerful, especially when the community and small businesses are first and engaging themselves.

“Having Aunties In Reach allows us to assist with not only the youth and parents, but build meaningful relationships with sponsors and partners.”
